Cube-Tec @ FIAT/IFTA World Conference 2023

After nearly four years, the FIAT/IFTA World Conference returns to Europe as an in-person event and will take place in Locarno, Switzerland.
It'll be held from the 17th to 20th of October and this year's topic is "Blame it on the algorithm!"

Victor Pranchere (Manager for Film and Audio Archive, CNA), Gilles Thoma (Head of IT, CNA) and Tom Lorenz (Managing Partner, Cube-Tec) will give a joint presentation on the 19th October at 5 PM CET.

The presentation is entitled: "Quality control for Archive Migration Workflows at CNA - a case study" and more information about it is below.

Quality control for Archive Migration Workflows at CNA - a case study

There is typically only one chance for the transfer of video tapes into the digital archive, because of the amount of work involved. Quality Control is required on different levels within the digitization workflow.

How can advanced technology support quality management (QM) operators in finding the most efficient and cost-effective spot-check locations, without wasting resources. How to guarantee to preserve the quality level of the originals through the complete workflow chain?

The presentation will explain how CNA, as the State Archive of Luxembourg (Centre national de l'audiovisuel), addresses this issue with a specific digitization workflow based on quality-controlled migration technology.

In a joint presentation, Victor Pranchere and Gilles Thoma (both CNA) will explain the operational requirements of the archive; Tom Lorenz (Cube-Tec) will provide insights into the technical solution.
