The German broadcaster Südwestrundfunk (SWR) has implemented a modern infrastructure based on Service Oriented Architecture. Cube-Tec delivered a system to manage Loudness Control and quality checks. The Loudness Calculator from Cube-Tec is integrated into the Enterprise Service Bus via SOAP interface. The service is in productive stage since July 2013.

The customized service calculates Program-Loudness and Loudness Range (LRA) according to EBU Recommendation 128 for single tracks, for separated tracks and for complete audio files. The software uses the cue-point information in the file header to split files into different regions.

Further validation checks help to ensure the program quality. The gained information about quality and loudness will be returned to the calling system via SOAP.
