Cube-Tec releases the Digital Error Checker

Cube-Tec International, well-known for its professional digital audio workstations, today announced the release of its latest program in the range of digital audio observers – the Digital Error Checker.

Processing large amounts of audio files is a common task in the daily workflow of a typical professional sound studio or archive. Proofing the quality of those processed files can be very expensive and time-consuming. Potential errors include Digital Zero, Digital Clipping, Sample Holds, Digital Clicks and Block Repeating. If an error occurs somewhere in the digital audio chain, or when audio material is delivered containing faults resulting from interference during transport, costs to rectify the problems can be very high – especially if the fault is not detected early.

The Digital Error Checker is a powerful tool that inspects a directory containing audio files. A fully detailed report is generated for any or all of the analyzed audio files, providing a clear summary of the errors contained in the audio material. The Digital Error Checker can be set to automatically monitor a particular directory for new incoming files, and any errors in the new data are identified immediately. A customized EventPlayer is supplied for a closer acoustical assessment of any errors. Export of all error data with exact timecode information as an XML file is supported, providing fully automated documentation and quality control management.
