Surround VPI's  -  Magneto Eight

Magneto Eight is an eight-channel surround version of the popular stereo VPI . It can be linked and grouped on all eight channels as well as the other surround-VPIs.

Magneto Eight provides a digital emulation of a professional analog tape machine, including tape compression and saturation effects as in the stereo version.

The "Drive" parameter is used to adjust the level that will saturate the "virtual" tape. Switchable meters provide a visual display of input and output levels, as well as showing the virtual level on the magnetic tape machine. Emulations for both 15 ips and 30 ips are available.

Magneto processed signals give individual instruments or complete mixes that "warm" analog feel, while providing a more natural, "punchier" sound. Digital recordings that have a sterile, "harsh" sound will benefit from Magneto's tape emulation, without the hiss and crosstalk associated with tape recordings.
