Sequoia Users about Cube-Tec

»I have been both a Sequoia and Cube-Tec user since 2006. Both have increased my productivity immensely. The Cube-Tec VPIs work flawlessly within Sequoia, and coupled with Sequoia’s “object” based software design, they make complex audio production tasks lightning fast. I can work almost as fast as I can think, which is a real delight after having worked on other systems that require many more steps to achieve the same or inferior results.

I have used the AnalogEQ and Loudness Maximizer plugins on every style of music from classic jazz, smooth jazz, R&B, and pop, to world and classical with equally superior results. And, the plugins have a broad range of applications ranging from use on single instrument or voice tracks within a multitrack mix, to overall EQ or dynamic range control in mastering. The AnalogEQ is beautiful sounding, especially in the double sample rate mode. You can easily hear the smallest spectral changes, without any “icky” sounding artifacts. Loudness Maximizer is unbelievably easy to use and also has none of the artifacts usually associated with dynamic range control software or hardware. The density control allows for simple adjustment of the relationship between compression and limiting type effects. In addition to new releases, I master many compilations from Concord Music Group’s vast back-catalog, and I constantly use these two plugins to sonically match often disparate recording styles included in the same compilation.

I wholeheartedly recommend the combination of Sequoia and Cube-Tec to anyone involved with the highest quality audio production work regardless of delivery medium. I wouldn’t work any other way! I have used many DAW’s and software over the last 20 years, and by far the Sequoia/Cube-Tec combination is my favorite.«

»It is not often that a software plugin changes the way you work everyday, but the restoration and mastering tools made by Cube-Tec have done just that! Having just finished a restoration project for the Haunted Mansion attraction at the Disneyland theme park I am reminded once again how good they are. I use them for everything including Mastering, Mixing, Promo, Audio Restoration and more. I am sure that the quality of the final product in every master we send out here at Soundworks is significantly better because of these quality plugins.«

»Using software plugins has always made a lot of sense to me from a practical standpoint. Unfortunately, they've always left me a bit empty with regards to sound when comparing them to a lot of the great analog outboard equipment that I've been using forever here at Lacquer Channel Mastering. I've literally tried and owned them all. A great majority of them simply get uninstalled after a period of being ignored. The only software plugins that have not only remained but have been on every single session since I bought them in the Fall of 2008 have been the Cube-Tec VPi's. Amazing! I've lost count on the number of times the EQ's and compressors were simply better suited to a track than my usual hardware. Easy to use, perfect recall and no monthly maintenance fees. VPI's are the future but I'm enjoying them right now . Of course, having Curt, Stephen and Stefan looking over my shoulder to get them integrated into my Sequoia system has been fantastic. My next foray will be with the restoration tools!«

»I own all of the Cube-Tec mastering plugins and use them every day for both mastering and mixing. All of the Cube-Tec tools do what they do extremely well, and they're very transparent. They're a very well designed and useful set of tools.«

»Running a Sequoia system, I don't want to compromise the audio quality when adding and using software dsp. That's why Cube-Tec is my first choice for plugins. Clean, transparent and musical. Anything less won't do.«

»I've been using Cube-Tec VPIs with my Sequoia workstation for over a year. Having access to VPI's wide and unique sonic palette without having to leave my existing editing platform is fantastic. For me it's the best of two worlds.«

»My approach to mastering has been revolutionized by my Sequoia/Cube-Tec system. There is no doubt this combination matches the way I work with audio in a superior way over any system I¹ve used previously for the past 13 years. I immediately loved the way it sounds, and the way everything on-screen is laid out logically and effectively. The Sequoia object editor surpasses any previous automation systems I used which were combersome and even unreliable. Sequoia¹s functionality combined with the Cube-Tec VPI¹s have greatly improved my work flow and production output.

The sound of the Cube-Tec VPI's opened up another dimension of sonic enhancement that can only be experienced in person. The company's customer service has been nothing less than stellar - providing me with the information and solutions in record-blazing time.

But most importantly, when you have a vision of how music can (and should) sound - and then you actually 'get' a sound that is beyond your expectations, it makes any project more fulfilling and every client happier.

The Loudness Maximizer is simply musical and muscular - the Vitalizer and Attack Designer solve issues associated with loud audio mastering - yet nothing feels like it's 'jumping through hoops'. The Analog EQ sounds fantastic: when you change a dB, it really sounds like a dB from a hardware piece. This is the first time I haven't felt like 2dB of eq really is the sound of 1dB in the real world.

I could not recommend any digital workstation system more highly. Forget that their support is top-of-the-line. Forget that the workflow is just better and it seems like the programmers have actually listened to their users. The results truly speak for themselves - it sounds great - it responds like a dream - clients are dazzled - and everybody wins when all levels of creativity work like.... Magic. Thank you Sequoia/Cube-Tec! «

»All the Cube-Tec plugins for Sequoia that I've tried have a very clean, pure, and robust sound quality. The new Multicomp is a gem, with one of the nicest ergonomic interfaces I've seen in a complex plugin. Normally absolute power brings great complexity, but the Multicomp is an exception, it is extraordinarily powerful and easy to use (though I'd like to see the ability to copy and paste settings between bands).

The unique ability to set the curve and threshold points by drawing makes life speedy and easy. But beyond that, it can do simultaneous downward compression and upward expansion and at multiple levels and thresholds, so I could compress low levels and expand high levels at the same time, and in different frequency bands if I want.

That, combined with excellent sound and complete compatibility with Sequoia's object-based processing, makes this dynamics processor a must-have.

On a similar note, I've always needed a good debuzzer (and dehummer) and I chose the Cube-Tec debuzzer over all other contenders because it remains transparent at settings where other such tools give up the ghost.
It's expensive (ouch) but worth every penny.«
