Commercial Detection Library

Many consumer-oriented video applications offer the benefit of digitizing VHS cassettes and write the content to DVD. Movies captured from public TV channels often contain unwanted commercial breaks which should be eliminated before creating the content for the DVD.

Our commercial detection library offers automatic detection of commercial breaks and rollback after a commercial break. Our technology is quite different from common used approaches like logo detection and such.

The algorithm is very robust and not depending on any specific channel. Field test had proven that it also works for US and Japanese TV channels as well as for most European formats.

The library is realized as a Microsoft’s DirectX 9.x filter and as such integrates nicely into any application which provides a proper interface. Video formats could be either YUV or RGB.
