Size Three

The next hardware expansion step is to add additional WorkUnits to further increase the data processing power. The DOBBIN ControlUnit manages the flow of job distribution instructions to the WorkUnits.

Additional WorkUnits

The JobDesigner and JobManager (working as JobClient) are located on any PC. ControlUnit, Database and first WorkUnit are on the Basic Package PC. The other WorkUnits are installed on external PCs - connected via a GigaBit network card. The JobManager can be run on any other external PC or laptop.

A file server is also needed so that the ControlUnit and the external WorkUnit both have access to the files.
