Some Digital Error Checker Features in Detail
How do I use the DEC as an "Audio Firewall"?
The Digital Error Checker can be set to automatically monitor a particular folder for new files. This is very useful when audio files are to be continuosly monitored for errors. Use the option "Monitor Folder" in the DEC's Start Options section to enable this feature.
I want to re-process my files with new settings, but the analyser shows "Skipped" for all files.
Please enable the option "Allow existing files to be overwritten" to be able to re-analyse the audio files. This option overwrites any previously created metadata files.
TroubleShooting
I get error messages when I start working with DEC.
This can have two possible causes
- the Hardlock protection dongle is either not attached or damaged
- the Hardlock driver is not installed correctly
Please make sure that the protection is attached properly and that the Hardlock driver is properly installed.
I get the message "Could not find the main class. Program will exit!" or "Could not start ResultViewer.jar" when pressing the Result button.
Please make sure that the correct Java Environment is installed on your system. Version 1.5 is installed as part of the normal DEC installation and should be used when viewing files with the ResultViewer.
